Plan Samurai
Samurai
A crested haori-hakama, with two swords at the waist. The stillness and pride of bushido, in a dignified portrait.
About Samurai
The Samurai look has you wear a crested haori-hakama with a sword and become a Japanese warrior. Righteousness, courage, benevolence, respect, sincerity, honor, loyalty — we capture the spirit of bushido in quiet composure. A photo for men, in touch with Japan’s ancient culture.
Crested haori-hakama & two swords
A crested haori-hakama of your choice, with a large and small sword — the dignified bearing of a samurai.
Swordsmanship stances
Choose from the stances of eight schools, from Kashima Shinto-ryu to Niten Ichi-ryu.
Capturing bushido
Finished valiantly, from the side of stillness and pride rather than fear.

Swordsmanship Stances
Choose from eight schools
-
Kashima Shinto-ryu
One of the wellsprings of swordsmanship. Rooted in Kashima Shrine, it carries ancient forms to this day.
-
Ono-ha Itto-ryu
The orthodox Itto-ryu. Mastering the “first sword” opens the way to ten thousand.
-
Jigen-ryu
A fierce blade of Satsuma. Everything is staked on the first strike; no second is needed.
-
Shinto Munen-ryu
Meeting the foe in “no thought, no idea.” It sent many swordsmen into the late-Edo world.
-
Tennen Rishin-ryu
A sword for real combat. Known as the school of the Shinsengumi’s Kondo Isami and Hijikata Toshizo.
-
Niten Ichi-ryu
The two-sword style founded by Miyamoto Musashi, wielding a large and small blade at will.
-
Hokushin Itto-ryu
A rational sword founded by Chiba Shusaku. Sakamoto Ryoma too knocked at its gate.
-
Yagyu Shinkage-ryu
The sword of the shogun’s house, teaching the “life-giving sword” that wins by sparing the foe.
You may choose your stance from eight swordsmanship schools. The school names given here are borrowed as motifs of stance, out of respect for Japan’s swordsmanship culture; they are not formally taught or certified by each school.
