About this plan

About Oiran Experience

Rather than faithfully recreating a historical Oiran, we take inspiration from the splendor, aesthetics and otherworldly atmosphere of Oiran culture, composed to be enjoyed as modern transformation photography and a sightseeing experience.

Uchikake

You wear a sumptuous uchikake for the shoot. Higher plans let you choose two uchikake.

Styled hair & makeup

Finished with an Oiran-style updo and makeup. A more authentic date-hyogo wig is available as an option.

Photography

A photographer shoots you on a dedicated set, suggesting poses — so first-timers can relax.

“Approx. N shots” is how many photos are taken (not how many you receive). What you take home is the number of edited JPEG photos for your plan. To keep every shot, add the all-shots JPEG data option (Oiran Plan C already includes it).

For heat reasons, in warmer months only 9:00 a.m. bookings are accepted. Suspended Jul. 1–Aug. 31 and Dec. 30–Jan. 3. Changes or cancellations must be made at least 5 days before your visit. In rain, we ask you to switch to an indoor shoot. Cannot be combined with other discounts or campaigns.

Choose one design from our samples. Reservation required. Not available on outdoor-shoot plans. Contact us if you would like to see the samples in advance.

Kacho-fugetsu option ¥8,800

Added to an indoor Oiran plan (A, B or C), this upgrades your styling with a date-hyogo wig, a five-tier bira kanzashi hairpin and a manaita obi. Choose either white powder makeup or natural skin color makeup. With this option you do not need to add the date-hyogo wig separately.

Shipping is a flat ¥550 (incl. tax) nationwide; ¥1,100 (incl. tax) for Hokkaido, Okinawa and some remote islands.

Please read before booking.

The date-hyogo wig and nail tips are paid options (the Kacho-fugetsu option already includes the date-hyogo wig).
Edited JPEG photos are delivered later (within one month); only the all-shots JPEG data is handed over on the day.
Plans that go outdoors (a Japanese garden, etc.) are, for kimono-size reasons, for guests up to bust 110 cm / hips 120 cm. Beyond that, we recommend an indoor plan.
Guests of junior-high age or younger cannot take the Oiran experience; we will guide you to a plan for children instead.

Costumes & accessories: Because our costumes and accessories are one-of-a-kind, we replace them over time as they wear. The exact items shown in our photos may not always be available. Thank you for your understanding.
Bringing your own items: You may bring up to 3 of your own costume or prop items per style. Please see the rules on bringing items.
Group photos: When your whole group chooses the same studio set, group photos (2 shots) are possible for up to 4 people. For reasons of space, 5 or more people are split into separate groups.

Cancellation fees: Cancellations the day before are charged 50% of the plan price; same-day and no-show cancellations, 100%. To change your date, please contact us as early as possible and we will do our best to help.
