Enjoy the attire of a Maiko from Kyoto’s hanamachi as modern transformation photography. With choice pure-silk patterned kimono, a half-wig and a hand-tied darari obi, spend a day meeting a different side of yourself.

The rickshaw fee is paid by the guest. At Ebisuya Kyoto Arashiyama main store, choose a 30-minute course (1 seat from ¥9,000 incl. tax / 2 seats from ¥10,000 incl. tax) or a 60-minute course (1 seat from ¥16,000 incl. tax / 2 seats from ¥20,000 incl. tax). Companions not taking part may ride along. Rickshaws are arranged on the day, so during busy periods and holidays they may be unavailable, and we may ask you to switch to the “Arashiyama Kokoro Plan” or “Maiko Kokoro Plan.”

For heat reasons, in warmer months only 9:00 a.m. bookings are accepted. Suspended Jul. 1–Aug. 31. In rain, please switch to an indoor plan. Choose your location (near Togetsukyo Bridge / the Bamboo Grove Path) at booking. *From 1 Nov to 13 Dec 2026, due to the tourist season, the shooting location is limited to “near Togetsukyo Bridge.”

This family-shoot option lets the one guest experiencing the plan add two or more family members, for three or more guests in total. Family members joining will change into kimono and take part in the shoot together. Free hair styling is provided for additional female participants. Makeup is not included, but is available on request for +¥2,200 (incl. tax); it is a natural finish without false eyelashes. *Reservation required.

Shipping is a flat ¥550 (incl. tax) nationwide; ¥1,100 (incl. tax) for Hokkaido, Okinawa and some remote islands.

Please read before booking.

We use a half-wig as standard. If your hair is not long enough, we use a full wig instead.
Plans that go outdoors are, for kimono-size reasons, for guests up to bust 110 cm / hips 120 cm. Beyond that, only the “Maiko Kokoro Plan” is available.
Rickshaws are arranged on the day, so during busy periods and holidays they may be unavailable. In that case we ask you to switch to the “Arashiyama Kokoro Plan” or “Maiko Kokoro Plan.”
In rain, plans that include a stroll or outdoor shooting may be changed to an indoor plan.
The Student Maiko plan is for high-school, university, graduate and vocational-school students. Please show your student ID at check-in (without it, the plan is unavailable). Cannot be combined with other discounts or campaigns.

Costumes & accessories: Because our costumes and accessories are one-of-a-kind, we replace them over time as they wear. The exact items shown in our photos may not always be available. Thank you for your understanding.
Bringing your own items: You may bring up to 3 of your own costume or prop items per style. Please see the rules on bringing items.
Group photos: When your whole group chooses the same studio set, group photos (2 shots) are possible for up to 4 people. For reasons of space, 5 or more people are split into separate groups.

Cancellation fees: Cancellations the day before are charged 50% of the plan price; same-day and no-show cancellations, 100%. To change your date, please contact us as early as possible and we will do our best to help.
